  • Detroit Greenways Coalition

    The Detroit Greenways Coalition are the movers and shakers who are bringing bicycling infrastructure to the city of Detroit. You’ll find maps of all the bike lanes in the city, info on the new Joe Louis Greenway, and the pedestrian crossing on the new Gordie Howe Bridge.

  • Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance

    The Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance should be your go to on all of Michigan’s long distance trails. This includes the five Great Lake to Lake trails and the hiking and bicycling routes for the Iron Belle.

  • North Country Trail

    The North Country Trail is the longest of the US National Scenic Trails. It’s over 4,800 mile route will take you from North Dakota to New Hampshire. The sections in Michigan most well known are along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and the Manistee River Loop outside of Cadilliac.

  • Iron Belle

    Spanning from Belle Isle in Detroit to Ironwood on the Wisconsin border, the Iron Belle is the nations longest state designated trail at over 2,000 miles. There are two distinct routes, one for hikers, the other for bicyclists.

  • United States Bike Routes

    The Adventure Cycling Association over its fifty years has dedicated itself to bicycle touring and creating over 52,000 miles of touring routes in the US. Three routes make their way through Michigan, Routes 10, 20, and 35.

  • UP North Trails

    UP North Trails has compiled information on the over 12,000 miles of trails that exist in the Northern Lower Peninsula and the Upper Peninsula. Information is not limited to hiking and biking, but also includes snowshoeing, cross country skiing, horseback riding, snowmobiling, and ATV trails.

  • Ontario Bike Trails

    The Ontario Bike Trails website is the most thorough resource for all of the rail trails and mountain bike trails in the province. Make sure to check out their guidebooks published by an author who rode them all to write about them.

  • Great Lakes Waterfront Trail

    The Great Lakes Waterfront Trail is a Canadian road and trail network dedicated to making access easier to the Great Lakes. This trail traverses 2,200 miles (3,600km) from Sault St. Marie to the Ontario/Quebec border. The trail continues into Quebec under a different name, La Route Verte.

  • Bruce Trail

    Bruce Trail is Canada’s oldest footpath, spanning over 560 miles (900km) from Niagra Falls to Tobermory. Following the Niagra Escarpment, you’ll find an additional 280 miles (450km) of side trails, multiple places to rock climb, and Bruce National Park.
